As school begins to become a permanent part of a child's life, you should expect to see your child be able to:
Visual:
- Visual perception skills improve when writing, threading and other occupations
- Able to follow clear instructions
- Depth perception improves
- Can write their name and most of the alphabet correctly
- Can undo shirt buttons and tie shoe laces
- Can manipulate small objects using both hands
- Learn to swim, developing proprioception and balance
- Develop complex motor skills needed for sport
- Can walk along a balance beam without falling
- Can throw or catch a ball
